l This equipment measures the curl of glass fiber at off-line.
l This system consists of a sensor unit & FB-240 special application software, that is made to run on the presonal computer.
l A sensor unit is connected by RS-232C cable with serial port of the personal compute.
l This equipment measures the curl of glass fiber by using CCD line sensor.
・Principle
l This equipment emits two parallel laser beams to glass fiber, and measures the distance between the two laser beams on the CCD line sensor reflected by glass fiber.
l The curl of fiber is represented by curvature k[1/m] and radius of the curve r[m].
l The relation between curvature k[1/m] and radius of the curve r[m] is
l k = 1/r
l Curveture k[1/m] of fiber is
l k = 1/2L * (ds/dz-1)
l (k : Curvature[1/m],
l dz : Standard distance between the two laser beams[mm],
l ds : Measured distance between the two laser beams on the CCD line sensor reflected by the fiber[mm],
l L : Distance between the fiber and the CCD line sensor[m].)
